Who is CHRISTEEN?

CHRISTEEN, a 138-year-old, 60-foot gaff-rigged sloop, is the oldest oyster sloop in America and a National Historic Landmark. After a complete restoration, CHRISTEEN launched in 1999 with a new mission to serve as a floating classroom for The WaterFront Center. Her US Coast Guard Licensed Captains and volunteer crew carry more than 5,000 people every year to educate them about maritime history, marine science, coastal ecology, aquaculture, and the oyster industry.
